Ukraine banned import of poultry meat from some regions of Sweden and Finland due to infectious disease
The State Department for Veterinary Medicine of the Agrarian Policy Ministry of Ukraine introduced a ban for imports of poultry, poultry meat and the resulting products from some regions of Finland and Sweden, because of registration on these territories of Newcastle bird disease.
A spokesman for the Department said the ban concern the Swedish county of Ostergotland and the administrative territory Western Finland (administrative district Satakunta).
Newcastle disease is one of the grave virus-induced infectious diseases of birds. It affects respiratory tract, nervous and digestion systems of the bird.
