Ukraine banned import of mutton from Slovenia due to infectious disease
The State Department for Veterinary Medicine of the Agrarian Policy Ministry of Ukraine introduced a ban for imports of sheep, mutton and the resulting products from Slovenia, because of registration on its territory of a dangerous infectious disease - sheep scrapie.
Scrapie is a dangerous infectious disease of sheep with lethal outcome. Healthy animals are infected when kept together with the sick ones or ranged on infected pastures.
