Russia: The Government Is Going to Pass the Decree About Grain Interventions

In the nearest future the government of Russian Federation will pass the decree to regulate grain interventions in 2004. Minister of agriculture of Russian Federation Aleksey Gordeev announced it to mass media on Aug.30.

In general, speaking about crop forecasting, Gordeev announced that his harvesting and export plans has not been changed. "Though harvesting covered more than half areas, but in September we have to go harvesting in Siberia - riskful farming regions. That's why we do not change our forecast, the adjustments will be announced on September, 15"- said the leader of Ministry of agriculture. According to the forecast the crop is going to be 76 million tonnes of corn.

Concerning the question of growing purchasing prices of agricultural products, Gordeev noted, that the growth of purchasing prices must correspond the growth of prices of energy resources. This principle, the minister reminded, is in the bill of agriculture, which is now being prepared by Ministry of agriculture of Russian Federation.
