Processors' purchase price for apples continue increasing
Agricultural Marketing Project (AMP) analysts noted that processing enterprises were increasing apple purchase prices during current week. Minimum purchase price was $0.03/kg, thereby apple supply for processing needs has been considerably shortened from the side of Ukrainian farms.
Price growth may be explained by some decrease of apple production in Ukraine, as well as by intense competition for raw materials among the processors; several new processing enterprises enter the market annually.
AMP information. The largest apple producers in Ukraine are Vinnitsa, Khmelnitskiy and Lviv oblast, which provide 35% of total yield.
