Austrians will produce apple concentrate in Ukraine
As Polish supplier of apple processing equipment informed Agricultural Marketing Project, a large Austrian firm is planning to open processing enterprise in one of the western oblasts of Ukraine that will process apples in apple concentrate.
It is easy to explain interest of Ukrainian and foreign companies to the apple market of Ukraine. The apple concentrate of Ukrainian origin meets stable demand in EU countries due to its taste qualities, so it is often sold for higher price than China apple concentrate, a world export leader of this commodity. Therefore, apple concentrate production expenses are lower in Ukraine than in Poland, for example. Past year Polish apple concentrate producers were forced to purchase apples for $ 0.15/kg, still purchase price in Ukraine was minimum 5 times lower. Sufficient cost-saving is also possible in energy consumption, labor and transportation. This business is rather profitable in terms of apple concentrate export to EU countries.
