Cabbage prices started to go down again
With the beginning with common harvesting time for late white cabbage varieties and cabbage supply growth on market the top price level for this commodity has gone down again this week. No one farmer is trying to sell cabbage for more than USD $ 0.13-0.15/kg, and even mentioned price is rather exclusive for supplies. In major cases the farmers propose to supply this commodity for price within the limits from USD $ 0.05 to 0.11/kg on terms of self transportation from the farm.
The analysts note that cabbage price depends much on how close the farmer is to the main consumer centers, because of respectively increasing transportation expenses as a result of price growth for fuel and lubricants. For example, it is possible to sell cabbage for USD $ 0.11/kg in Cherkasy and Poltava oblast; the buyers of Lviv oblast rarely offer more than USD $ 0.05-0.06/kg, and in Zakarpattya even this price is considered to be favorable for cabbage producer.
