Apple juice prices are able to jump up on Ukrainian market
As to the opinion of AMP (Agricultural Marketing Project) analysts, price growth is observed for apples for processing needs - apple concentrate, puree and juice production - and it may lead to a rapid price growth for apple juice on the interior market.
Price increase for apples supplied for processing has been rather abrupt this year, up to 250-350% in some regions. The primary reason for price growth was the enhanced competition for raw materials; some new enterprises specialized on apple concentrate production are being opened rather actively in Ukraine, mainly with the aim of the further export of apple concentrate to EU countries. The apple production decrease observed this year might also cause the price growth; besides, the acreage of old apple orchards is constantly shortened, however, the old orchards have been the main apple suppliers for processing needs recently.
