Shortage for red beets is observed in AR Crimea

According to the information provided by Alexander Lekhno, Market Information Specialist of Crimean AMP (Agricultural Marketing Project), on the wholesale Simferopol market the demand for red beets exceeds supply this week. Despite of the fact that price on red beets has not increased yet, the price growth is possible in the nearest future, to the opinion of Alexander Lekhno. The wholesale price for red beets in AR Crimea is now USD $ 0.09-0.11/kg, and retail price is about USD $ 0.13/kg.

According to the experts' evaluation, the annual shortage for red beets in AR Crimea is more than 12,000 tons. The most severe shortage for this commodity is observed in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi and Zhytomyr oblasts of Ukraine.
