On Zakarpattya markets Hungarian cucumbers and Spanish tomatoes are sold

During two past weeks the tomato retail prices increased nearly twice in Zakarpattya and are now up to USD $ 1.7/kg, according to evaluation of Maxim Yenchenko, Market Information specialist of Zakarpattya AMP (Agricultural Marketing Project) office. On Zakarpattya markets it is quite difficult to buy one kilo of tomatoes cheaper than USD $ 1.32/kg. It is worthy to note that you can buy tomatoes on the minimal price which are produced in Spain, properly packed and visually have the better quality than the locally produced tomatoes.

Price on cucumber continues to go up. During the past week cucumbers got up on 10% and are sold in retail for USD $ 1.7-1.9/kg. The significant part of the commodities for sale on Zakarpattya markets is imported from Hungary, most likely, without paying custom charges.
