President signed law about moratorium for sales/purchase of farmland
On December 2 President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma signed the Law "About Amendments into the Land Code of Ukraine", passed by Verkhovna Rada on October 18.
By this law the moratorium for sales of land for agricultural use in Ukraine is prolonged till January 1, 2007.
In the new version of the law there is also a statement that until January 1, 2015 the citizens and legal persons will be able to acquire property rights for agricultural land only of the total area of up to 100 hectares.
The terms of documents issuance for the land plots, which are in permanent use, are extended until January 1, 2010.
The law enters the force since the day of its publication.
