Anti-monopoly committee warned wholesalers against unjustified increase of prices

Head of Ukraine's Anti-Monopoly Committee (AMCU) Olexiy Kostusev claimed unacceptability of economically unjustified increase of wholesale prices, the AMCU press-service has reported.

In particular, he said: "Anti-Monopoly Committee of Ukraine has been receiving complaints that wholesale traders, under the pretext of political destabilisation, without any economic reasons are increasing the prices at 20 to 40 percent".

Such moves can result in a sharp increase of retail prices in the short perspective, Kostusev said.

"In this case we will use all our rights, vested on us by the law, in order not to permit economic instability in the country", he said.
