In the second decade of January 2005 the further price increase on livestock products and its processed commodities was observed in Ukraine. This was reported by the Public Relations and Press-Service Department of the Ministry of Economics of Ukraine.
In particular, according to price monitoring data (conducted by the governmental bodies of price control), in the period between 01/10/05 and 01/20/05 the average retail price levels increased - on beef (on 1.2%), pork (0.7%), chicken meat (0.2%), fat (0.4%), chicken eggs (4.5%), cooked sausage, 1 grade (1.3%), milk (2%), and butter (0.3%). The price growth is also obvious for the vegetable commodities: potato (2.5%), cabbage (2.6%), onion (1.5%).
At the same time the decrease of average prices on fat (0.9%) and eggs (3.5%) was obvious.
Taking into consideration the seasonal factor of market conjuncture change (demand decrease), the specialists of the Ministry of Economics think that the dynamics of consumption prices in the second decade of January 2005 proves the relatively stable situation with the prices on the main consumption products in Ukraine; the exception is made for meat and milk commodities, the prices on which may continue increasing.
