Greenhouse cucumbers and tomatoes cheapened much since the national producers have entered the market
This week, as it was prognosed earlier by Agricultural Marketing Project (AMP) the trend of price decrease on the greenhouse cucumbers and tomatoes was preserved. The retail price on cucumber went down to USD $ 1.13-1.7/kg; there are supplies even on USD $ 0.9/kg.
The greenhouse tomatoes cheapened first of all in the southern regions of Ukraine. You could buy tomatoes in Odesa on USD $ 1.51-1.88/kg and in Crimea starting from USD $ 2.26/kg. Crimea AMP office informed about the tomato supplied on market by the local producer - "Crimean greenhouse".
We can expect that during the future weeks the trend of price decrease for greenhouse vegetables will be preserved in Ukraine. Tomatoes will probably cheapen by the greatest rates as the price on this commodity is much higher than cucumber price.
