Information for fruit and vegetables business in CIS
In February Ukraine increased groats production.
According to operative data of State Statistics Committee, in February 2005 Ukraine increased groats production to 18,000 tonnes, which is 5 percent up from January production. Though compared to February 2004 2 percent decrease in production is seen.
The volume of carryover stocks of groats at the end of February decreased by 16 percent (compared to the end of January) to 5,400 tonnes.
Total production of groats for 8 months of 2004/05 MY (July-February) in Ukraine amounted 175,500 tonnes, which is 9.6 percent (10,100 tonnes) up from the same period last season.
