The authorities of Yevpatoria ask for help on purpose to enhance the competition of fruit and vegetable market

The Trading Department of Yevpatoria city council inquired Crimea office of Agricultural Marketing Project (AMP) if they can attract the greater number of the sellers of fruit and vegetable commodities to Yevpatoria and Saki markets. The fruit and vegetable prices on these markets are unreasonably high as a result of the insufficient supply. It was reported by Alexander Lekhno, Market Information Specialist of Crimea AMP office.

The Yevpatoria governmental authorities think that this step will increase the competition rate and make the prices on fruits and vegetables lower and affordable for the local population.

At present moment AMP has carried out and sent to the city council its recommendations concerning the competition increase on fruit and vegetable markets in Yevpatoria and Saki.

AMP information. Despite of the favorable climatic conditions, AR Crimea is one of the most "deficit" regions as for fruit and vegetable commodities. Even not taking into account a great number of tourists visiting Crimea in summer, it is necessary to supply twice as much vegetables than the local producers grow.
