Moldova: farm production increased 5.1 pc in the first quarter of 2005

According to Moldova's national Bureau of statistics, agriculture gross output in the first quarter of 2005 reached a worth of $68.3 million. In comparison with 2004 it increased 5.1 percent. The increase is accounted to the growth in production volume of cattle breeding.

In January-March 2005 the output of cattle and chicken breeding industries increased 4.6 percent, eggs production increased 21.8 percent. At the same time, milk production decreased 0.3 percent.

Cattle productivity in the country's farm increased notably over the period.
