Kazakhstan: farm output increased 3.8 pc in January-April

According to Kazakhstan's National Agency for Statistics, the worth of the country's farm sector output in January-April 2005 increased 3.8 percent in comparison with the same period of 2004.

According to the statistics, in January-April 2005 the farmers produced 354,000 tonnes of meat against 341,800 tonnes in the same months of last year, 1.128 million tonnes of milk (1.077 million tonnes), 744.3 million eggs (711.2 million).

Cattle and poultry herd, according to statistics, increased in all farm categories, while the pigs herd decreased slightly compared to last year's data.
