On the wholesale fruit and vegetable market "Kopani", Kherson oblast, red cabbage is offered for sale USD $ 0.98/kg, according to the information provided by Roman Rybalko, the Price Monitoring Specialist of Agricultural Marketing Project. The specialists mention that the production technology and self-cost is nearly the same for white and red cabbage. At the same time, the price on red cabbage is practically always much higher than the price on white cabbage; so red cabbage is a rather attractive crop for farmers. However, one should be very careful making the decision on red cabbage production as the demand on this commodity is very small. In this case the specialists advise to consider thoroughly the question of commodity sales before the final decision.
