The mass harvesting of squash for processing goes on in Odesa oblast. The farmers-vegetable producers report that the local canneries purchase squash in bulk on terms of self-delivery on USD 0.02-0.03/kg including VAT.
The market players inform about cucumber deficit faced by the local canneries. The farmers report that the processing enterprises propose them to sign supply contracts on the additional volumes. The representatives of some canneries speak about the possibility to finance partially the extension of cucumber production. The purchase prices, presupposed for the additionally grown produce, are negotiated on the level not lower than USD 0.39/kg (pickle not longer than 9 sm.).
According to the information provided by Odesa vegetable producers, at the present moment the bulk sets of cucumber of pickle type are purchased by the local processors on USD 0.39-0.47/kg.
