First Silpo supermarket was opened in Poltava oblast
A supermarket of Silpo trade chain was opened in Kremenchug, Poltava oblast, the first of the kind in Poltava oblast, according to the information provided by Vladimir Pisarenko, the Marketing Specialist of Poltava office, Agricultural Marketing Oblast.
The supermarket is located in the largest residential area of the city called Molodezhniy (13a, 50 Let Oktyabrya Str.). The supermarket is the second largest in the city, presented in the classic supermarket format with the direct approach and a wide assortment of food. Only Eko supermarket, located in the same rayon, is comparable to it as to size and assortment; still Silpo supermarket is situated far away form Eko supermarket.
AMP information. Silpo supermarket chain is owned by Fozzy Group Corporation and consists of more than 60 supermarkets in Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine. Till 2007 the corporation is planning to extend Silpo chain up to 100 stores. Fozzy Group Corporation has been working on Ukrainian market since 1997; except Silpo supermarkets, it owns Fora discounter chain, Bud zdorov drugstore chain, Dnepryanka grocery chain, TM "Nezhin".
