Ukraine refunded 595 mln hryvnias of VAT to grain exporters
As of August 29 Ukrainian exporters of grain had been refunded 595 million hryvnias of value added tax, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Kinakh said to a meeting of panel for grain market coordination September 1.
He said the figure was twice that as of the same date last year, but nevertheless there were still some 334 million hryvnias of unsettled debt to be refunded. He said it was urgent to increase activities of refunding VAT to grain traders, as the outstanding debts deprive the companies of current assets and downgrade the market price for grain in Ukraine by as much as 10 percent.
He said the governmental panel for VAT refund to exporters, to his opinion, had to work on a permanent basis but not just now and then as it is the case at the moment.
