There will be more supermarkets in Uzhgorod

The Agricultural Marketing Project was informed that soon three more supermarkets will be added to four already working. Two supermarkets are planned to be opened by the largest in Ukraine Silpo chain, owned by Fozzi company. Silpo supermarkets haven't been represented in Uzhgorod before. The third supermarket will be owned by the local company which has already opened one store in the city.

Among four supermarkets working in Uzhgorod two Vopak supermarkets are owned by Volynpack, Ukrainian-Slovak Closed Joint-Stock company. This company manages 15 supermarkets in the western region of Ukraine.

The increase of the quantity of supermarkets in the regions is well grounded, to the specialists' opinion. As Andrey Andryushko, the Senior Marketing Specialist of the Agricultural Marketing Project, says, "In Kyiv the need for supermarkets is satisfied on 30%, in the regions - only on 10-15%". To the opinion of the western specialists, to this moment one supermarket per 10 thousands of population is optimal.
