Schemes of smuggling goods to Ukraine brought back to existence - in-charge-of Ukraine's First VPM

Schemes of illegal imports (smuggling) of goods to Ukraine have been brought back to existence, said in-charge-of Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Kinakh. He expressed this opinion to a sitting of the Interdepartmental Coordination Board on Combat with Smuggles on September 13.

Kinakh said that in March this year the monthly value of budget incomes from imports of goods had reached 2.7 billion hryvnias, but it had not increased since then.

"This is a sign that the schemes of smuggles that used to exist in earlier period are being resumed. These are interrupted transit, manipulations with minimal customs value, new channels of crossing the customs frontier without payment of proper fees, corruption within the authorities whose duty is to safeguard the customs frontiers", said Mr. Kinakh.
