Mortgage price remains hidden on the Treasure Island
APK journalists received the information that MinAP and Bread of Ukraine State JSC still have a foggy idea about the mortgage price for grain no matter that Ukrainian Premier announced Mar 21 that this current year mortgage sales will definitely become a reality.
MinAP previously suggested price UAH 420 per one MT of 3rd grade milling wheat plus VAT but at harvest time this price may prove higher than the market and because of scarce cash reserve this may limit the possibilities of the farmer to sell mortgaged grain.
Bread of Ukraine appeals to bring the price down to UAH 360/MT but their appeal is unlikely to be heard by the MinAP administration.
The Premier believes that at harvest time and right after it up to 15% of grain should be bought on mortgage terms.
