Prices on fruits go on growing in Poland

The price growth on fruits goes on in Poland; it is caused by the decreased production. Past week the price on apples for processing into juice and concentrate increased up to USD 0.13-0.15/kg. At the same time Ukrainian processors are still paying producers not more than USD 0.09/kg. Pears also remain expensive; the purchase price on this commodity reaches USD 0.57/kg that is 20% dearer than a year ago. Dessert apples are also sold 20% more expensive than a year ago, so that there are fewer fears about the overflow of cheap Polish apple on Ukrainian market starting from December 2005. At the same time there are some real perspectives for the further price growth on dessert apples on Polish market as soon as in December 2005, because the demand on these commodities from the side of Ukrainian importers will increase most probably several times comparing to the previous year.
