Sales Volumes of Turkish Tomatoes Increased Significantly Today in Kyiv

According to Anatoly Yarovoy, the Price Monitoring Specialist of the Agricultural Marketing Project, the supply of fresh vegetables grew significantly at the Farmer wholesale produce market in Kyiv. Despite of this fact, no considerable price decrease has been observed, as the demand on vegetables remains very stable.

Increased supply of Turkish tomatoes is one of the oddities of today's trade; they meet a very good demand despite of a relatively high price US $1.86/kg (Ukrainian tomato costs US$1.62-1.76/kg). Good demand was determined by the good quality and standard size of imported tomatoes.

The supply of quality white cabbage also grew significantly and present cost is US $0.33/kg. All in all, fruits are still dominating in the market. There are an abundance of apples in the market, but demand is not very high. Table grapes sold very well. Citrus supply also increased today; citrus fruits are trying to compete with relatively cheap apples this year.
