In January the experts forecast further price decrease and supply growth of Polish apples to Ukrainian market
To the opinion of the experts of the Ukrainian produce business weekly journal "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits", price decrease on Polish apples will go on in some weeks. Moreover, this trend is expected to speed up in the first half of January, as Russia will hardly raise the ban on produce supplies from Poland by that time.
We should say that despite of the price decrease on dessert apples in Poland observed recently, the apple prices are still higher than a year ago. If the ban on Polish apple supplies is not raised, Polish producers will be able to sell residues to the other countries only in condition of the significant price concession. Now many trading companies and apple producers are readily decrease prices in their effort to sell apples.
As "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly has already informed, the supplies of Polish apples to Ukraine increased much mid December; still these supplies are not large, as Ukrainian and Polish wholesale companies are only trying to develop business relations and set up the trading process. To the opinion of the experts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly, this process will speed up, and the apple supplies to Ukraine will increase.
At the present moment the wholesale price on quality dessert apples is fluctuating within $ 0.2-0.3/kg in Poland, the same products are sold $ 0.7-1.3/kg on Kyiv wholesale market. The price on quality apples may decrease on Ukrainian produce market after the New Year holidays.
