Spain needs to mechanize citrus harvesting
According to the information provided by the FreshPlaza, Spanish agricultural organization Ava-Asaja has recently suggested that mechanic harvesting of citrus fruits is the only way out to recover competitiveness. To the opinion expressed by this organization, world market of citrus fruits becomes more open and competitive, so that the countries with cheap labor have significant advantages. That's why the representatives of Ava-Asaja consider machine harvesting of oranges to be the only way out instead of the traditional manual method.
According to the information of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits", this year Ukraine increased import of citrus fruits from Spain and Egypt, and reduced the import of these commodities from Turkey. Talking about the reasons for that, the analysts name the change of preferences of Ukrainian consumers who would rather buy produce of better quality now.
