Supplies of cheap Polish apples to Ukraine continue increasing
According to the information provided by the professionally oriented weekly "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" of the produce business of Ukraine, the volumes of Polish apple supplies to the Ukrainian market continue increasing. Anatoliy Yarovoy, the Price Monitoring Specialist of the Agricultural Marketing Project, informed the weekly's journalists about it, seeing that Polish apples invade wholesale markets of Ukraine and oust little by little national products out of market.
As Anatoliy Yarovoy says, the quality Polish apples of medium size were sold on $ 0.84/kg in average. Gorets, Ligold, Mutsu, and Golden Delicious apple varieties meet stable demand on Kyiv wholesale market. There are no pears of Polish origin on market, though the tax import on this product has been also decreased since the 1st of December 2005. Somewhat we can explain this fact by sufficient volumes of high-quality Ukrainian pears present on market, pears cost here $ 1.76-1.96/kg.
Kyiv wholesale market on Troyeschina is known for the frequent problems with the assortment; vegetable supply has decreased there today, but there are plenty of imported citrus fruits. Even popular greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers are insufficiently supplied on market; there is no cauliflower at all. Though, the analysts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly think that the trade will liven up much in the middle of next week.
