Restructured collective farms beat private farmers
UNIAN reported that yields at restructured collective farms are higher than yields at private farms. Oleksander Kobzev, the Ukrainian Agribusiness Development Project Analyst talking to Apr 24th presentation called Agricultural production and agribusiness in Ukraine said that winter wheat yields at restructured collective farms shows 2.9MT per ha whereas private farms have only 2.5MT per ha.
Other crops show similar figures except for potatoes where private farms lead 12.6MT to 10.9MT per ha.
Kobzev said that such situation took place due to insufficient input and equipment available at private farms and partially incorrect figures when reporting to statistics authorities.
