Retail vegetable prices remained stable past week
The prices on main vegetables remained stable during past week on the retail markets of Ukraine according to the price monitoring conducted by "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly journal. An average potato price remained on the level of $0.54/kg; the highest potato price was observed in Crimea - $0.58-0.78/kg, the lowest prices are in Lviv, Zakarpattya and Volyn oblasts, potato can be bought there on $0.39-0.49/kg. An average cabbage price was 0.56/kg. An average onion price remained on the level of $0.52/kg. Carrot grew 7% expensive during a week, and an average carrot price reached the level of $0.6/kg. Red beets price also increased 7%, it costs now $0.5/kg in average.
If we compare today's prices to the prices of late December - early January, we see that potato price has increased 30-35%, cabbage 37%, onion 25%, carrot 70% and red beets 60%.
