Greenhouse produce prices are decreasing in Ukraine

According to the information provided by the Agricultural Marketing Project, a quite significant price decrease on greenhouse commodities was observed past week in Ukraine. Cucumbers cheapened the most; the supply of this product was increasing due to more cucumber volumes produced in Ukrainian greenhouses, and also due to the increase of average day temperatures. Past week an average retail price on cucumber decreased 11%, according to the data of the Agricultural Marketing Project.

The decrease of retail tomato prices was not so drastic, only 3-5% a week. The mass harvesting of greenhouse tomato has not started yet in the national greenhouses; at the same time the supplies of imported produce remain relatively stable.

Greenhouse pepper prices have not practically changed during a week. However, the pepper production volumes in the national greenhouses are relatively small compared to cucumber and tomato production, the same situation is observed with the volumes of pepper consumption on market.
