Vegetable market situation remained stable past week

According to the results of retail price monitoring conducted by "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly journal, retail prices on main vegetables have not changed since the previous week. An average potato price remained on level of $ 0.56/kg on Ukrainian markets, though potato price increase around 5-10% was observed in some regions. However, this price growth should be explained by the higher quality of supplied potato. White cabbage price has not changed; it is still on level of $0.58/kg. Onion costs $ 0.54/kg as before. Carrot shortage was still recorded on market; average prices reached $0.65/kg. Cucumber and tomato prices remained unchanged in retail trade; at the same time, these products prices went down significantly on wholesale market, so we can expect the retail tomato and cucumber prices to decrease this week. Red beet is still poorly supplied; the prices were kept on level of $0.53/kg.
