Ukrainian greenhouses started active tomato sales in the second half of March

Past week first significant supplies of national greenhouse tomato were observed on market; the supply volumes will increase soon, according to the information provided by "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly journal. Some greenhouse complexes have not started to sell tomato yet, but plan to do it by the end of month. At the present moment the greenhouse tomato prices of national origin are rather high, the complexes sell produce $2.35-2.55/kg. Spain and Turkish tomato is still present on market, the sales price is somewhat lower - down to $1.76/kg.

Greenhouses expect tomato prices to decrease smoothly during next weeks. We'd like to remind that past year the wholesale tomato cost $1.96-2.15/kg in the same period of time. The price was kept on level of $1.56-1.96/kg till mid June, and then the abrupt price decrease started.
