Production of canned vegetables increased 20% in February

Official statistics reported that production of natural canned vegetables has increased 20 % in February 2006 in comparison with the previous month and reached 4.49 thousand tons. Production of canned vegetables increased 71% compared with the same month of 2005 (February 2005 production was 2.63 thousand tons).

In total during the first two months of 2006, Ukrainian companies produced 8.22 thousand tons of the canned vegetables, which is 3.03 thousand tons more than during the corresponding period of the past year. Please note that major production of canned vegetables in Ukraine occurs during the period from July to December.
