First sets of early cabbage and lettuce will come to Lviv oblast markets mid May

Lviv oblast farmers started spring cultivation thanks to the coming spring warmth. Many producers have already grown transplants of the different varieties of early cabbage, lettuce, leek, celery for open ground production; the plants have been sown under agrifiber as well. First sets of early cabbage and lettuce may be supplied mid May on supermarket shelves, so Lviv supermarkets are actively searching for the suppliers now.

In Lviv neighboring villages the producers cover sites with film and agrifiber for early vegetables production, in particular onion, radish, dock, lettuce.

The farmers and private agricultural producers have already planted cucumber and lettuce transplants in film and glass greenhouses.

The other farmers are ready to plant early potato, fresh herbs, onion, red beets and carrot. The soil is over moistened after winter; the mentioned crops can be planted not earlier than in 10-14 days.
