Large shipments of radish will enter market in the second half of April

The season 2005-2006 was the first when radish was constantly offered for sale on some produce markets. For example, radish bunches were sold throughout winter for a rather fair price of $ 0.78/bunch on PRIVOZ market in Odesa. At the same time the majority of country produce markets did not possess radish in winter assortment; the first lots were supplied only in the second half of March - early April. Today radish is present in all Ukrainian markets, the price fluctuates within $ 0.58-1.17/bunch, according to the results of retail price monitoring conducted by the Agricultural Marketing Project.

Radish supply is extending day by day; there are large shipments of this commodity on the wholesale markets. Today the first radish lots were supplied on KOPANI market in Kherson oblast; the vendors set the price $0.49/bunch. The wholesalers expect mass shipments to enter the market closer to mid April; it will be the time of the possible price decrease.

April 15th 2005 a radish bunch cost about $0.39/kg on FARMER market in Kyiv. This year early radish production grew much, so the supply increase is able to make the price decline.
