Vegetable prices decreased in Lviv oblast

Vegetable prices decreased in Lviv oblast early May, according to the information provided by Sergiy Havryshev, the Market Information Specialist of Lviv office, Agricultural Marketing Project to "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal. In particular, potato declined in price in average 20% down to 0.31/kg, white cabbage 3% down to 0.54/kg, early white cabbage 18% down to $1.37/kg, Pekinese cabbage 15% down to $ 0.96/kg, greenhouse tomato 6% down to $1.47/kg, red beets 5% down to $0.37/kg, and radish 58% down to $0.49/kg.

The main reason for price decrease is the reduced demand for the produce from the side of the intermediaries from the neighboring oblasts (mainly Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk oblasts, which have not resumed yet their normal work after Easter holidays). But, the supply remains stable for the majority of vegetable commodities. However, radish and early white cabbage supply of Zakarpattya origin increased the most; significant price fluctuations were recorded for these types of produce.
