Cabbage and cucumber prices decline dramatically in Crimea

Excessive supply of early cabbage is observed on Simferopol wholesale market, according to information provided by Alexander Lekhno, the Market Information Specialist of Crimean office, Agricultural Marketing Project. The prices declined down to $0.39/kg. However, there are pretty much sellers of cabbage of 2005 harvest. The price for past year cabbage is higher than the early cabbage price; it is $0.43/kg on average. At the same period of time past year the prices were approximately the same.

There are rather large cucumber supplies on market. Not only large greenhouse enterprises supply cucumber now, but private producers too. Cucumber prices dropped down to $0.58-0.68/kg. However, the price level is higher on $0.1-0.2/kg than it was past year.
