Strawberry price remains high
According to the results of wholesale price monitoring conducted by "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal, the price for strawberry remains relatively high. And, the price decrease trend is insignificant. Moreover, strawberry has grown somewhat expensive in Kyiv recently.
Such situation is untypical: as a rule, just in this period of year the price for strawberry used to decline the most significantly. For example, in first two weeks of June past year strawberry price declined twice as less, and weekly price decrease averaged 5-7%.
Today small strawberry shipments are sold for $2.15-2.54/kg on FARMER market in Kyiv. Price was the same in the beginning of this week; and the price is thrice as high comparing to the same period of time in 2005. Past year small strawberry shipments were sold for $0.88/kg in Kyiv.
