Champignon price have decreased 45% during 2.5 months

Champignon prices continue decreasing. According to price monitoring of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal, champignon price declined from $2.54/kg late March down to $1.37/kg mid June. Despite of the traditionally reduced supply of this mushroom in summer (small producers either reduce or suspend mushroom production in summer), large companies still find it difficult to sell commodities. Market specialists say, in summer buyers prefer to purchase fresh vegetables. Taking into account limited shelf life of mushrooms, mushroom farms have to reduce prices. Those producers experience the most severe problems who have no stable sales channels. The activeness of the processors is low too, as canneries are focused on produce purchase now.

Those companies who work under constant agreements with wholesalers and processors are not planning to reduce prices. They hope for price growth to happen in August due to fewer supplies on market.
