First shipments of raspberry are entering Cherkasy oblast markets

First shipments of raspberry entered retail markets of Cherkasy oblast, according to information provided by Cherkasy oblast, Agricultural Marketing Project to "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal. Early raspberry varieties are mainly supplied for the price up to $2.94/kg. Raspberry supply growth can be expected soon, and the price is likely to gradually decrease. The harvesting of medium raspberry varieties is about to start in the oblast.

Past season the retail price for raspberry did not go lower than $1.17/kg. To the specialists' opinion, this year raspberry prices will hardly be low despite of the production growth expected to reach 5-10%. The constantly growing market needs are not likely to be fully satisfied.
