Champignon prices started to decline on Kyiv markets
According to information provided by the specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal, this week the price decrease has been observed for champignons, in particular on FARMER Kyiv market. In the beginning of the week the wholesale price for champignon was $1.96-2.05/kg; on Wednesday the price did not exceed $1.76/kg.
The national mushroom producers explain this fact by two major reasons. First of all, the supplies of Polish champignons for a rather competitive price $1.56-1.66/kg are increasing. Second, population sells large volumes of cepe - it is a peak season for this mushroom now.
Despite of these circumstances, national producers do not decrease the production volumes; they continue supplying the usual shipments of mushrooms by lower prices $1.47-1.56/kg.
According to the forecasts, the price for national champignon should stabilize in the nearest future. Then the prices can go up again, as the price growth traditionally comes with cool weather.
