The share of fresh oyster mushroom market reduces
The consumption of oyster mushroom grows, but the share of fresh market reduces, according to information provided to "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal by Vladimir Shapoval, the Deputy Director of POLTAVAGRIB LLC. This enterprise produces oyster mushroom and materials for this commodity production.
In peak season the enterprise independently grows 1-2 tons of mushrooms a week. And, part of commodities is supplied by private producers who purchased equipment and materials to grow and supply oyster mushrooms.
V. Shapoval pointed out that the consumption volumes and the demand for this commodity have been smoothly growing during several recent years.
The firm management gave up the initial idea to process mushrooms, cause all fresh composites are quickly sold out. The sales channels have been substantially reallocated during recent two years. Earlier, fresh market used to consume practically all produced commodities; now the most part of the produced mushroom is purchased by fast-food enterprises and the producers of cooled and frozen semi-products. The producers of Korean salads buy mushrooms as well.
The rest of mushrooms go to supermarkets and to fresh market. The enterprise had to delay the formation of the substrate because of long and hot summer. The first harvest of oyster mushroom is expected to take place on October 10th.
