Bell pepper costs 3.5 times as cheap in Ukraine than in Poland
Ukrainian farmers picked a top record pepper harvest this season. It led to the significant price decrease for this commodity and, as a result, to the increased export shipments of bell pepper. Today this information was provided by Andriy Yarmak, the Deputy Director of the Agricultural Marketing Project.
As of today, the price difference for pepper in Ukraine and in the EU countries remains significant to further stimulate the export of this commodity from our country. For example, a wholesale price for pepper is 3.5 times lower now on KOPANI market in Kherson oblast (that is the center of pepper production in Ukraine) comparing to the prices on BRONISZE market near Warsaw. If pepper is purchased directly from the producers, the wholesalers can even count on a better price.
Ukraine has exported this year the top record volumes of fresh produce (water-melon, egg-plant, pepper, tomato, cucumber, onion, etc.); also our country is getting ready to significantly increase the export of canned and frozen vegetables, fruits and berries. Due to these facts the level of interest to the third international conference "Fruits and Vegetables of Ukraine 2006. Open Market" is unusually high from the side of Ukrainian and foreign companies. The practice confirms that the participation in this conference is the most effective way to search for business and trade partners; it is also the most effective tool to get exclusive market information.
