The prices for cabbage, onion, potato and carrot continue decreasing on Ukrainian market

Most market players have expected the prices for "borsch" vegetables to stabilize soon; despite of this fact, vegetable prices continued declining. The price decrease was predetermined by record harvest of most mentioned vegetables. Also, those producers are trying to sell remaining vegetables before frosts who haven't own storages.

According to evaluations of the Agricultural Marketing Project, during past week an average wholesale price for potato decreased 6%, for white cabbage - 10%, for Pekinese cabbage - 16%, for bulb onion and green onion - 5%. The price for carrot has declined 15-20% on Kyiv wholesale market, and has increased 12% on Lviv wholesale market SHUVAR since the previous week. The price for table beet has not changed much during a week.

It is worth to point out that the prices for greenhouse vegetables significantly increased past week. According to evaluations of the Agricultural Marketing Project, an average price growth for greenhouse produce constituted 45% in Kyiv if compared with the data of the previous Monday.
