Ukraine: seasonal import duties and livestock import quoting to be lifted
A source in Ukrainian parliament said that parliamentary committee on agriculture would recommend Verkhovna Rada (Parliament of Ukraine) to make amendments into law "About state regulation of imports of agricultural products". The issue of amendments was brought in by President to be put on the agenda as urgent.
In particular, it is proposed to exclude articles, regulating application of seasonal duties on imports of agricultural products and those concerned with nontariff regulation (quotation) of livestock products imports.
The committee sees the reasons for changes in the need of adjusting Ukrainian legislation to GATT/WTO procedures and inexpediency of further use of duties and quoting from the point of current economic situation in the country.
