Prices for fresh herbs continue growing in Ukraine

According to information of the specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal, the prices for fresh herbs have significantly increased since the previous week in Ukraine. The market players explain this circumstance by the decreased supply of this commodity on the background of the simultaneous demand growth for fresh herbs. The supplies of dill, parsley and green onion of the national origin have declined too. Most greenhouse farms have already finished their work; they are preparing for the next season.

The specialists informed that imported commodities dominate on market; in particular, Georgian fresh herbs lead the supply in the upper price segment, as a rule. The vendors have increased the prices for all types of fresh herbs during one week: now dill costs $3.13-3.52/kg, parsley - $2.35-2.94/kg, green onion - $2.15-2.45/kg. The remaining shipments of national dill are sold for $1.56-2.35/kg, but in most cases the consumers prefer to buy quality imported produce.

To the specialists' opinion, the further formation of fresh herbs prices will directly depend on the quantity of this commodity supplies to Ukraine. The demand for fresh herbs is traditionally high, especially in winter period, so the vendors do not worry about the problematic sales.
