World demand for blueberry, raspberry, strawberry and other berries is growing due to their anti-cancer properties

Extracts of such berries as blueberry, strawberry, raspberry and others are able to inhibit the growth and dissemination of cancer cells. The scientists think that a high content of antioxidants in these berries is the main reason.

These properties were noticed by the consumers who respond by a dramatic demand for berries. For example, the demand for blueberry has increased 130%, for raspberry - 62%, for strawberry - 34% during two years in Great Britain. The same healing properties were detected in cranberry and blackberry; the demand for these berries is growing too.

We remind that Ukraine is one of the world largest suppliers of wild blueberry. At the same time, the production of cultivar blueberry is actively developing in the world cause this product meets a very great demand both on fresh market and among processors.
