Large shipments of Georgian tangerines are expected to come soon to Ukraine
According to information provided by the specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal, a ship is loaded with a large shipment of tangerines for Ukrainian market in Batumi port, Georgia.
At the present moment the main tangerine supplier to Ukraine is Turkey. Vendors confirm the stable tangerine sales; in some cases they even lift up the sales prices as the demand for this produce is gradually growing.
The market players forecast that Georgian produce will successfully compete with Turkish tangerines; this fact will result in the price decrease on the national market. The market players observed the alike situation in 2005 when the prices decreased down to $0.56-0.58/kg at the beginning of the active supplies of Georgian tangerines.
At the present moment the representatives of wholesale companies talk about insignificant volumes of Georgian tangerine on market; the prices for this product are $0.03-0.05/kg lower than the prices for tangerines of Turkish origin.
